Crisp of the Month · Jenny’s pick

Pipers Anglesey Sea Salt

Thick, hand-cooked and properly crunchy, with salt you can actually see. The potato does most of the talking.

About the Academy

From the founder
“A good crisp deserves the same attention as a good glass of wine. Usually, it gets a lot less.”

The Academy started as an argument between friends about the best crisp in Britain. Nobody won, so I kept tasting. These days there are tasting notes on the backs of receipts and a cupboard that is mostly packets.

This is where it all gets written down: honest reviews, my all-time favourites and the wines that go with them.
